چکیده

This paper investigates the problem of robust fault detection observer design for nonlinear Takagi–Sugeno models with unmeasurable premise variables subject to sensor faults and unknown bounded disturbance. The main idea is to synthesize a robust fault detection observer by means of a mixed H =H1 performance index. The considered observer is used to estimate jointly states and faults. Using the technique of descriptor system representation, we proposed a new less-conservative approach in term of a linear matrix inequality (LMI) by considering the sensor fault as an auxiliary state variable. A solution of the problem is obtained by using an iterative LMI procedure. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Design of nonlinear parity approach to fault detection and identification based on Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model and unknown input observer in nonlinear systems

In this study, a novel fault detection scheme is developed for a class of nonlinear system in the presence of sensor noise. A nonlinear Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is implemented to create multiple models. While the T-S fuzzy model is used for only the nonlinear distribution matrix of the fault and measurement signals, a larger category of nonlinear systems is considered. Next, a mapping to decou...

Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Observer Design for Induction Motors with Immeasurable Decision Variables: State Estimation and Sensor Fault Detection

This paper deals with the problem of sensor fault detection of induction motors described by some linear models blended together through non linear membership functions that involve unmeasurable decision variables. The intermittent disconnections of the sensors produce severe transient errors in the estimator used in the control loop, worsening the performance of the induction motor. Then, a Ta...

Robust Fault Detection and Estimation for Descriptor Systems Based on Multi-Models Concept

This paper addresses the robust fault detection and estimation problem of nonlinear descriptor system with unknown inputs observers. The considered nonlinear descriptor system is transformed into an equivalent multi-models form by using the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) approach. Two cases are considered: the first one deals with the multi-models with measurable decision variables and the second one assu...

An H∞ Sliding Mode Observer for Takagi-Sugeno Nonlinear Systems with Simultaneous Actuator and Sensor Faults

This paper considers the problem of robust reconstruction of simultaneous actuator and sensor faults for a class of uncertain Takagi–Sugeno nonlinear systems with unmeasurable premise variables. The proposed fault reconstruction and estimation design method with H∞ performance is used to reconstruct both actuator and sensor faults when the latter are transformed into pseudo-actuator faults by i...
